News & Events

 Dear Mr Blatter.........

With the 'World Cup Fever' hitting the country, pupils at Sibsey have incorporated various World Cup themes in their school curriculum.  For example, Class 3 have been analysing data based on temperature and rainfall in South Africa, Class 4 were having an animated debate over the pro's and con's of vuvuzelas and Class 5 have been extremely proactive in bringing the 2018 World Cup to England.  Led by Mr Hill, and as part of their literacy curriculum, pupils have written to FIFA President Joseph S Blatter at FIFA Headquarters in Zurich, putting forward their argument as to why England would be a good host nation.  Below, pupils are shown in the process of posting their letters off to President Blatter in Switzerland.

OUR SCHOOL IDENTITY

The pupils at Sibsey Free School are extremely proud of our school and our Windmill Logo features in all aspects of school life.  When Sibsey Free School acquired a flagpole several years ago, a flag was designed and now flies proudly at the front of the school everyday.  Mrs Smith (our caretaker) gave the job of putting up the flag in the morning and taking it down at night to Millie Prudden and George Clayton (pictured below) who take their job extremely seriously and are proud to do the task for Mrs Smith and the school.

 Y5 ORIENTEERING 2009

Mr Hill took the Y5's to Witham Way Country Park on the 29th September 2009 to take part in the annual Boston Schools Sports Initiative Orienteering competition.  The pupils were grouped into 3's and 4's and following a briefing by an official, were sent off with a map and a scorecard to be punched, onto the course.  Each group were sent off to find a point on the map, punch their card with a special punch when they got there and return as quickly as they could.  The final event was a timed competition, with the first three groups to return, their times being entered into the overall competition (ours was a heat).  A fantastic afternoon was had by all and the team of Emily Hobbs, Jasmine Waters and Isabelle Porcher came 2nd out of 39 teams.  Well done to all the Sibsey teams who took part - you all did very well!
